Horse Transfer System
Although a variety of animals can be used in the psychotherapeutic process, horses offer unique traits that have made them a top choice for animal-assisted therapies. However, mounting in a horse with any type of disability will be a challenge for the horse, rider and carer.
At Gilani Mobility, you will find the Horse Transfer System which enables people of determination riders to take a riding hoist when they attend events & competitions. Allow for the easier transfer of people, they ensure that care providers don’t have to take on dangerous processes to help the individual they are assisting to move around.
Horse Transfer System can be used with the spreader bar or with the Body Support System (a device used instead of a sling to transfer riders, speeds up the transfer process and leaves the user seat free). It also helps people with restricted mobility to safely mount and dismount from a horse.
Horse Transfer System can be fitted to a car, wall, or fixed to an upright post. It offers better comfort, security, and flexibility when transferring people, perhaps from a wheelchair to a horse. However, we’ve been also able to see all people of determination among us enjoy a more comfortable and convenient lifestyle.
Features:
- Structure: The hoist system consists of a sturdy framework, often made of steel, with a series of vertical supports and a horizontal lifting arm. The structure is designed to be stable and capable of withstanding the weight and movement of a horse.
- Lifting Mechanism: The lifting mechanism usually involves an electric or hydraulic system that provides the power to raise and lower the horse. It may include a motor, cables, pulleys, and a control panel for operating the hoist.
- Sling or Harness: A specialized sling or harness is used to securely lift and support the horse during the transfer. The sling is typically made of durable and comfortable materials like nylon or padded fabric. It is designed to distribute the horse’s weight evenly and avoid placing excessive pressure on any specific area.
- Controls and Safety Features: The hoist system is equipped with controls that allow the operator to raise, lower, and stop the lifting process as needed. Safety features such as emergency stop buttons, limit switches to prevent overloading, and securing mechanisms for the sling/harness are incorporated to ensure the safety of both the horse and the operator.
- Operation: To transfer a horse, the operator positions the hoist system near the horse and adjusts the sling or harness to fit around the horse’s body. Once the horse is properly secured, the operator activates the lifting mechanism, and the horse is slowly raised off the ground. The operator carefully guides the horse during the transfer, ensuring its comfort and safety. Once in the desired location, the hoist system is lowered, and the horse can be gently released from the sling or harness.
