From a Sydney Workshop to Gilani Mobility Dubai
What began as an ambitious accessibility project in Sydney grew into Gilani Engineering, eventually bringing its engineering-led mobility solutions to Dubai and across the Gulf.

Six months, $200,000, one idea
Working from a 200m² workshop with two welding machines, two vehicle hoists and one employee, founder Ray Gilani set out to build something that didn't exist: an internal elevator system for a standard people mover.
2011
Gilani Engineering is founded
That workshop became Gilani Engineering, established in Sydney — and remains the group's engineering and R&D base today. The result of that first project, the G24 NoRamp® conversion, was later patented.
2022
Gilani Mobility launches in Dubai
We brought the group's engineering-led solutions to the Gulf, serving the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman from a showroom in Al Garhoud and a factory in Umm Ramool.

Expo Dubai
We showcased the G24 NoRamp® technology on a global stage, contributing to the international conversation on accessibility and inclusion.

Ray Gilani is a mechanical and automotive engineer whose work spans wheelchair-accessible vehicles, vehicle modification, assistive technology and mobility solutions. That engineering background sits behind every Gilani product, including the G24 NoRamp® system he developed from scratch.
His work introducing new assistive technologies to the region has been featured by the Khaleej Times, and Gilani Engineering's Australian operation carries experience across NDIS-registered mobility and accessibility services — from personal mobility equipment and home modifications to accessible transport.

Bought a Kia Carnival with the G24 wheelchair access conversion for my father a few months ago and honestly its made a huge difference for our family. Getting him in and out of the vehicle is so much easier now and travelling around the UAE has become much less stressfull.
The team was really helpful from the first visit till delivery. They answered all our questions and didnt try to push us into anything. Everything was explained properly and the handover went smoothly.
My father is very happy with it and thats what matters most to us. There was a small thing I needed clarification on after delivery but they got back to me quickly and sorted it out.
Overall very pleased with both the vehicle and the service. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
